Brendaliz Negrón

Puerto Rican director of photography and camera operator, with over 15 years of experience in the media. Convinced of the potential of the audiovisual medium to cause change, she decided to dedicate herself to cinema early on. She graduated from the University of Puerto Rico in Communications, and continued film studies with a specialization in photography at the International Film and TV School in San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba. Her experience on the neighboring island sparked her interest in exploring the Latin American region, and took her to other countries where she worked professionally in projects, many of social content.

She debuted as a camera operator in the feature film “La Bodega”, produced by Casa Comal Arte y Cultura in Guatemala, an organization dedicated to the production, education and diffusion of cinema in Central America.

Her stay in the region continued in Nicaragua working on the series "Contracorriente", produced by the organization Puntos de Encuentro. In it she served as camera operator and 2nd unit DoP.

She returned to film work in Puerto Rico as a focus puller for local and international productions, while continuing her development as a director of photography. Through her experiences she has accrued a diverse training within the cinematographic profession, achieving a place within a guild that is competitive and difficult to penetrate.

Some of her credits as a cinematographer include the short films "Siberia", "María" and "Biopsia", the documentary "Todavía la Semilla", the musical special "Tiempos de Aguinaldo" and the feature films "A punto de llegar", "Arroba Amor" y "Diario, mujer y café" .
